About the plan of the designated reconstruction area

This is the plan to make the habitable area in Namie, Futaba, Okuma, Tomioka, Katsurao, and Itate 6 towns and villages located in the difficult-to-return zone by the spring of 2022 to the spring of 2023, lifting the evacuation order in those towns and villages. This plan will be made by local governments and will be confirmed by the federal government. Afterword of the confirmation, this plan will be on going to reconstruct the area.

Prior to the opening of the designated reconstruction zone, the entire JR Joban Line will be reopened at the end of March 2020, and three stations, Futaba(Futaba), Ono(Okuma), Yonomori (Tomika) that are located at the difficult-to-return zone. The restoration and decontamination of the collapsed overpasses and tracks are almost complete, and the federal government is planning to lift the evacuation order around the stations.

We, as local persons, think that the most important thing to be respected in this area is the possibility which we can step forward and the seed of hope which we couldn't see in the past, considering how we have survived and struggled after the disaster under the various regulations, discrimination, friction…those hard situations. We would like to carefully watch the future movement constantly.
